Endodontic Treatments

Endodontic Treatments1.jpg

Endodontic treatment, commonly known as root canal treatment, is the process of cleaning the inflamed or damaged nerve tissue inside the tooth and reconstructing it with a filling. The aim is to save the tooth without extraction and to ensure that it remains in the mouth in a healthy manner for many years.

Deep cavities, trauma, fractures or old, failed fillings can damage the living tissue of the tooth. This can cause severe pain, sensitivity and, over time, infection.

How is Root Canal Treatment Applied?

  • The procedure is made painless with local anesthesia.

  • The nerve and vascular tissue inside the tooth is removed.

  • The channels are cleaned and shaped with special tools.

  • It is filled sterilely and sealing is ensured.

  • If necessary, the upper part of the tooth is restored with a filling or a crown.

A properly applied root canal treatment preserves the function and aesthetics of the tooth for many years. Although there is usually a slight sensitivity after the procedure, it passes in a short time.

Early intervention is of great importance both in terms of saving the tooth and preventing more complicated procedures.
